Mr. Taylor's practice involves a wide variety of litigation matters, including commercial contract disputes, shareholder disputes, mass tort litigation, and person injury cases. He has practiced in both federal and sate courts. Prior to joining CKPT, Mark worked for five years as the second-chair trial layer for a nationally recognized trial attorney, trying multi-million dollar lawsuits in many jurisdictions across Texas and across the country. Having worked on trials in so many different venues, Mr. Taylor can assist your home-town counsel in determining how the differences in procedures and local court practices can affect your litigation strategy.
Representative Local Counsel Experience
- Represented out-of-state and foreign investors in Dallas litigation over ownership of cable television network
- Represented out-of-state company in litigation initiated to protect patented technology and prevent disclosure of information to a competitor
- Represented out-of-state contractor brought into multiparty dispute alleging commercial corruption and conspiracy to defraud. Negotiated a favorable settlement at an early state in the litigation that allowed this peripheral defendant to avoid potentially debilitating legal fees.
- Represented out-of-state victims in mass tort case filed in Texas. Handled numerous forum non conveniens motions and challenges to jurisdiction and venue.
- Served as local counsel in defense of class action lawsuit against a Colorado trade association. Negotiated outright dismissal of the lawsuit without payment of any settlement
- Served as local counsel in sexual harassment lawsuit.
